University of Michigan Health-West 1310 East Beltline

It can accommodate up to 20 providers and 55 staff, caring for between 400 and 500 patients daily. his project builds upon the care team model established by University of Michigan Health-West and creates a two-level neighborhood outpatient center offering primary care services, lab draw, and x-ray imaging. The program’s organization locates care team spaces along the building perimeter and adjacent to exam rooms to benefit from natural light and minimize steps traveled. Patient flow is organized along central main street with short cross-corridors providing access to exam spaces. At the midpoint of the primary patient path is a central plaza that provides an identifiable landmark and an opportunity for intentional branding and messaging. The result is a rich, patient-focused experience that is intuitive and easy to navigate.
