Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital Office, Kitchen, and Café

The Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital Kitchen and Café Renovation and Addition project includes a 6,000-square-foot renovation and the addition of a three-story, 11,000-square-foot building on Lafayette Avenue SE, adjacent to the existing campus at 235 Wealthy St. SE. The building contains a kitchen, cafeteria with indoor and outdoor seating, and physician offices. It allows the hospital to operate food services in-house. The space, previously occupied by an outdoor pediatric playground, will become an indoor play area open for year-round use. The cafeteria and kitchen also serve as rehabilitation spaces for patients with disabling injuries or illnesses to learn how to prepare food based on their physical or dietary limitations.
